Staves Templates

Introduction

Staves templates are offered when applying « Staves > Add staff ».
You can create your own templates for instance to automatically relate a specific instrument to a staff template, define colors, default sizes, etc.
Staves templates you defined are located in the « Staves » subfolder of « Myriad Documents/Settings »

Creating user-defined templates:

File extension for a staff template file is « sta »

To create your own template:

- Start a new document with only one staff

- Apply to this staff all the settings you want to be included in the staff that will be generated from this template
Note: When applying a template, objects and size information are erased

- Define the name to be displayed in the list:
If the document has a title, it's the document title
Else it's the staff title
Otherwise it's the file name

- Select "File > Export > Model (template)" and select the  « Myriad Documents/Settings/Staves » folder

- You can select there in which section the template will be located (or create your own).

- Give your file a name, the file extension must be ".sta"

- Save it.

That's all, you should see the new template in the list, marked by a star, when you select "Staves > Add staff". Otherwise, you might have made a mistake, redo the whole procedure…

Tip: In the software, the Help menu enables to quickly open the "Myriad Documents" folder.
