With the arrival of increasingly high-resolution
screens, it is sometimes necessary to adjust the
interface to suit your eyesight.
Floating Palettes or
Dock?
First, you need to decide whether you want to
use floating palettes or the Dock.
This can be set in the "Windows > Dock" menu.
If you choose to use floating palettes, you can
select an icon set and icon background that you find
more legible in "Configuration > Global Setup>
Icon Set".
How to adjust the
different display scales?
Both the Dock and floating palettes are resizable.
For the Dock, click the icon at the bottom-right
corner and move the mouse.
For palettes, click the title/input bar while
holding the Shift key, and move the mouse up or
down.
The display scale of dropdown menus and the mouse
cursor size can be adjusted in Global Setup, under
the Screen tab.
You can enlarge the small icons on the left side of
each staff in "Configuration > Global Setup >
Edit", under the "Staff menu: large icons" option.
Lastly, the document zoom level can be set via
"Windows > Scale".
How to change the
appearance of windows?
You can define the overall appearance of the
interface: several themes are available in
"Configuration > Global Setup > Preferences
> Themes".
Some themes can display in inverted contrast.
The transparency of palettes, alerts (and menus on
Windows or Linux) can be adjusted in "Configuration
> Global Setup > Edit".
How to choose the display
fonts?
On Windows and Linux, the fonts offered in
"Configuration > Global Setup> Themes" let you
choose the look of menus, buttons, and window
titles.
The Fonts option in C"onfiguration > Global
Setup" lets you choose the default fonts used for
the various elements of your score.
This affects not only what you see, but also the
content of the scores you produce with the software.
How to choose colors and
background graphics?
On Windows and Linux, the background of the main
window (desktop) can be changed in "Configuration
> Global Setup> Themes".
In "Configuration > Global Setup> Appearance",
you can choose the color of boundary lines and ghost
rests.
In the "Screen" tab, you can choose the background
pattern or color of the score view, and the colors
used to highlight selected elements.
Finally, if you program in MyrScript, the full
appearance (fonts, colors, etc.) of the script
editor can be configured in "Configuration >
Global Setup> Scripts".
