I downloaded the trial program today and tried with a relatively small PDF file. Two problems: 1. The program does not maintain the tempo when rendering the music in the PDF file.
2. I tried to save the 1st page as a MIDI file but it only allowed me to save as a *.myr or a *.xmz file. Neither file format can be opened by Sibelius.
The idea behind this program is excellent, but being able to export PDFtoMusic files to files recognized by the major music processing programs would make it even better.
PDFtoMusic (the simpler version, which you tried) appears to be intended either as stand-alone, or as a front-end to other Myriad music products. (I am a user; I don't work for Myriad.)
PDFtoMusic Pro, which is more expensive, already exports to a format that can be imported by many other music programs - MusicXML. So, Myriad does not need to add anything. It is already there. The Pro version appears to be aimed at user who do not have other Myriad music products.
As for maintaining the tempo, I have also come across that problem, not all the time, but depending on the PDF file. In my case, it appeared to have something to do with a lyric being interpreted as non-lyric text. Since I have other Myriad music products, I could fix it myself in the other program. But it would be a good idea for it to be solved within PDFtoMusic.
