PDF vectoriel ou pas?

A la suite d'un échange courriel avec Didier, j'aimerais savoir comment distinguer les pdf vectoriels de ceux qui ne sont que bitmaps, étant donné que PDFto ne peut gérer que les premiers.

1) Tu ouvres le fichier PDF dans Adobe Reader
2) Tu fais Ctrl-A (= sélectionner tout)
3) Si tu as des zones bleutées (sélectionnées) correspondant aux notes, c'est un vectoriel. Si tu n'as rien de sélectionné sur la partition, c'est une image

Question: PDFtoMusic can process vectorial PDF files (in which the notation is in the form of embedded fonts), but not image PDF fonts (in which the notation is scanned bitmaps). When you open a PDF file, how can you tell whether it is vectorial or bitmap?
Answer: Open the file in Adobe Reader, use CTRL+A to select all, and look at what has been selected. If the notation is selected (as various objects) then it is vectorial, and can be processed by PDFtoMusic.
The following question asks if it is possible to convert a non-vectorial PDF file into a vectorial PDF file. The answer is no (not by any means). Some programs can trace drawing outlines, producing vectors. But the result is not the same as a file with original font information embedded.
Generally, the PDF file must be the output (converted to PDF) of a music notation software program. You can find resources with such things as classical music (old enough to be in public domain) where some hobbyist has taken the trouble to enter the notation into a music notation program, then published the result as PDF. This kind of file is usually suitable for PDFtoMusic. But if the original sheet music, on paper, was merely scanned, then PDFtoMusic is not suitable.

Non, une partition non-vectorielle (bitmap) ne peut être utilisée par PdfToMusic même si elle se présente sous la forme d'un document PDF.
Pour cela, chez Myriad, vous trouverez le logiciel OMeR qui permet (dans Harmony Assistant ou Melody Assistant) de lire une partition numérisée. OMeR ouvre les documents JPG, GIF, PDF, PNG, Photoshop, targa,et TIFF.
Mais il y a des limites à la reconnaissance optique des partitions musicales, la qualité de l'image à analyser est primordiale : les meilleurs résultats s'obtiennent en numérisant soi-même une partition originale avec un scanner. En outre, de nombreuses corrections ultérieures seront nécessaires sous Harmony ou Melody.

¿Parte del resultado de los estudios e investigaciones invertidos en el nuevo producto PDFtoMusic, podrán ser aplicados en un nuevo OMER mas completo y potente?...
Todos estamos deseando que OMER, avance, para ser un digno compañero de viaje de PDFtoMusic. Un complemento ideal para hacer lo que al"nuevo bebé" no le es posible realizar.

Bien que je comprenne très peu l'espagnol, je crois que la proposition d'Oliveira mérite soutien.
Il me semble d'ailleurs que sur le blog de Myriad, la réutilisation dans un "Super-OMeR" de certains algorithmes développés pour PDFToMusic avait été envisagée.
