I am totally useless at icons and pictograms - I cannot understand what a square/circle/triangle on clothing labels mean.
In ancient Egypt, I would be illiterate - has anyone published a "pictionary" ?

I had to ask how to enable Virtual Singer: silly me - looking for a menu item, when it should have been obvious you had to click to open the curtain and click the little birdy!

H. A. does allow you to change the icons at the beginning of staves (Windows > Miscellaneous Tools > Effects Processor), which you can change into an apple or a dog
You can also create your own icons, perhaps a bathroom or alpine valley for reverberation? The landscape icon is more appropriate for reverberation = off.
What other music programs allow you to do that ?

Still can’t remove Reverb !!?
Hi there !
A long-time user of HA, I’ve started trying VS voices.
SoI imported this file from Musescore and at first there was no reverb. I tried tweaking the VS voices but didn’t understand the interface window (not like for usual instruments).
I tried ED’s 2007 suggestion: Menu score => edit global digital effects, but to no avail. Found nothing to enable or disable reverb.
I also read : "reverb is removed by deleting the little landscape picture at the start of the score" but can’t find any landscape picture…
So now lost.
I also have terrible distortion from time to time… tried adjusting velocities but am looking for global tweaking tools..
Can anyone help me please ?
Thanks
P.S. File too big to attach... could I perhaps embed a link to Box?

Best is to attach an extract, including the beginning of the score. Just delete from bar 11 for "99999"

Thanks for getting back to me!
I've tried deleting lots of bars and however many I delete the file size is still  over 2 MB.
So I'm trying a link here to my file :
https://app.box.com/s/t7rbx4qc15p2j5pskba2olupvmgif18w
Hope that's okay?
Thanks again !

I have seen such a "landscape picture" - with the word "reverb" - in some imported files, but I think these were midi imports.

In your case, I don't think the problem is a matter of reverb, but rather of vibrato.

On the first (soprano) staff, the voice is much like the standard Classical/Soprano, except for the first 5 (out of 6) vibrato parms.

When reloading that standard voice, the "reverb-like" effect isn't there anymore.

OK. Thank you. I'll recheck that

Hi!
Your file has "curves" for volume, resonator and reverb.
For each staff, click the green triangle, then select one of the curve that has dots (the ones with red star), then "delete current curve".

A fastest way is to click the green triangle > disable all curves. Curve datas are still present but not interpreted.

Deleting curves will reduce your file size.

Curve datas are produced by
- importing MIDI file that contains them, the most frequent case.
- Using the Mixer palette, in "Scene" mode, "live" mode enable, and move the instruments while playing. Rare, unprecise.

Curve are very powerful tools. This may be called "Automation" in some softwares. It allows change the stereo panning and many thing during a few bars.
The FX (effects) on each instrument, and on each staff in MIDI import (if an option is enable), or inserted anywhere using the "Miscellaneous" palette, are automatic / robotic way to internally generate curves.
Example : a stereo panning ping-pong create a virtual curve of stereo with triangle or sinusoid curve between two left/right values.

In your file, some curve are very precise, a goldsmith work!

A real world comparison:
The FX are the things on a pedal board for guitarists, when the guitarist push the on/off button. On synths, these are the on/off buttons for some effects. In both case, there are parameters, and nothing changed while playing, except the on/off and some stored settings.
The curves are the pedals (guitar), wheels (keyboard) that change a parameter while playing. Guitarist moves a pedal to change Wah-Wah effect power, keyboardist use a wheel to change the pitch, and electric organs have a volume pedal the organist can change freely while playing.

Hope you understand the concept now, and why your file is so big with so much reverb.
So, just disable the reverb curve on each staff and see if you like the result.

Enjoy!
